The Screw Compactor operates by receiving waste material, which is then gripped by a worm shaft and propelled through a confined tube. A pneumatic cylinder controls the compaction pressure by adjusting clamping jaws at the tube exit, resulting in tightly compacted waste with minimal volume and zero dust emission.
The Screw Compactor operates through a simple yet highly efficient mechanism. Dust and fibres from upstream separation units are directed into the compactor, where they are seized by a rotating worm shaft (screw conveyor). This shaft moves the waste forward through a specially designed conveying tube. At the tube’s exit, a pneumatic cylinder controls a set of clamping jaws that create back pressure, compacting the waste as it passes through. This ensures that the discharged material is tightly packed, significantly reducing its volume while fully containing any dust. The entire process is continuous, enclosed, and automated, providing a clean and efficient method of waste handling with minimal manual intervention.
